The Symbol Of Money (An Essay)

if money isn’t actually REAL

and it’s not

(it’s just a symbol of one aspect of wealth at best)

then you can see how silly it is to chase a symbol

to project value onto it

to want more of it

this thing that isn’t even REAL

what you’re actually reaching for

in your desire for more money

is TRUE wealth

is MORE of yourself

through this symbol we call money

and…

you think that money can do for you

what you’re not willing to do for yourself

you think that money can fill that perceived, yet deeply felt gap, between you and YOU

but it can’t

no amount of money can bridge that illusory divide

(that’s an inner job; not a symbol job)

just like no amount of money can make you feel safe and secure

because as you already know

there are plenty of rich people who STILL feel insecure about money aka themselves

and attempt to use money

to deal with and compensate for

that perceived, yet experienced, deficiency

but of course it doesn’t work

because they haven’t done the work

and money can’t solve this ‘issue’ of inner impoverishment

aka the denial of one’s TRUE self

and having a fuckton of money will never translate into feeling secure in their ability to generate power and to fully trust and be themselves without doing that work

so can you see how absurd it is to think that the symbol that is money could deliver you from this?

from the actual work your desire for money is calling you to do?

and can you see that money isn’t what makes you wealthy?

because wealth is who you are

and if you were already in touch with the wealth that is you

the money would be an inevitable extension of that

but instead of being THIS

you aim for *that*

when being THIS

is where IT’s at
