Living Versus LIVING
I chatted with someone on the weekend who said he hated Montreal and couldn’t believe I loved it. When all you do is work and drive in the city, I can see why. But if you’re truly immersing yourself into all it has to offer, it’s just one amazing experience / party after the other. I pity those who live here but don’t actually LIVE here. Thankfully I do enough living for all of them.

My Love For Kampai
In Montreal I actually do prefer to go to clubs and festivals with myself because it feels great and I meet so many awesome humans and I never need to feel restricted by other people’s moods, preferences, timelines, judgments or discomforts while I'm out, and that’s my kind of heaven.

My Favourite Part Of Living In Montreal
I honestly feel like the coolest person on the planet when I ride through Montreal. I think riding is my favourite part of being in this city. I see SO much beauty in each part of town and if I stopped to capture everything that made me go “ooooohhh!”, I wouldn’t get anywhere at all. So I just ride and smile at all the gorgeousness and occasionally stop for kitties, swans, doggies, cute bike shops and pretty art on buildings. This city spoils me every day!

They Said Yes To TGT Which Means A Full Year Of Funding!
I am so damn proud and happy to announce that Too Good Triangles has been accepted by the selection committee and we will begin working together on June 4th to make TGT what it’s meant to be. I will have funding for up to a year for the start-up phase (and an additional year of business support for the post-start-up phase) as long as I’m meeting all the requirements and completing the tasks along the way.

Why I Love NDG
I’ve said this before, but NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce) has that old school community vibe. We’re all so connected here. The families, the neighbours, the shop owners with their customers as well as with each other. We make up one wonderful unit of togetherness and I can’t say I’ve experienced that before beyond my own amazing circle of hearts in my life and online. People who live in NDG speak about how special it is here and I couldn't agree more. There's really nothing like it. I never want to leave.

Ephemeral Musings On The Beauty Of Life
Today felt like magic. Most of my days feel like magic. I just dance with the rhythm of my life and each moment takes me to a new place - where time and the person and the situation meet just once - never to be experienced again. Although we can’t repeat any of our moments, we can certainly live them all.

The Beautiful Stranger At Kampai
Song after song after song, neither of us veered from our spot on the edge of the dance floor. His friends came and went, random men came and went, and there we both stayed just enjoying one another’s company.

Dining In The Dark At Dans Le Noir
Here’s a picture of me, Christen, our hot waiter and our delicious meal at Dans Le Noir. What an amazing experience! A yummy 3 course meal in complete darkness (we both had filet mignon) and I gave up on utensils within seconds and I just used my hands throughout each course. The best part was when some dishes were dropped and smashed on the ground and everyone in the restaurant clapped and cheered.

Ma Première Vidéo En Français: 10 Façons Simples D'Apprendre Une Nouvelle Langue
One of my personal goals for this year was to do my first video in French because speaking is the most challenging part of the language for me. I'd been putting it off for months but today I decided it's ok to be exactly where I am and the more I practise and challenge myself, the better I'll become.

P&B Chronicles: Rafael's Request
It was a surreal experience for me to hear audible responses to some of my lines about Keveen, and afterwards some of my friends shared how it resonated with them. They opened up about their own stories in front of everyone and it was beautiful. I was asked more questions, I shared more of my heart, they asked to see pictures of Keveen, I acquiesced, and side conversations grew deeper.

As we talked, she asked if I knew of Amélie. She said that I’m just like her with the way I look at things. I beamed and thanked her and told her that Amélie is one of my favourite films and also my favourite character, and that the soundtrack plays a special part in my book, which I also told her about that night because that was the day my books came but I missed them so I was anxiously awaiting the return of the UPS guy the next day.

A Reflection On Schooling And Perfect Timing
I was 18 when I had Paige, and I had only one term left to do in high school if I was to complete my OACs for university in time to apply for the fall semester. Paige was born January 10th and I was due back at school about a week after that. Needless to say, I didn't want to return. Anyone who has had a baby probably knows that returning to work or school so soon after is not ideal. I just wanted to stay home and learn how to be a mom.

I Went To School To Quit, Then Signed Up For Another Term
Monday and Tuesday were very hard for me as I tried to figure out if I was going to continue in French Immersion. I am now in Level 6 and I have missed so much school this term to complete The 10 Year Anniversary Edition of The Poet & The Butterfly, and on the rare occasions that I did show up, my mind was on my work so I wasn’t fully engaged or absorbing things properly.
