I agree that happiness has nothing to do with your life experiences, but even if you accept them, it doesn't mean you'll be happy.
In my experience, happiness comes from HOW you perceive yourself and everything that happens. It's about the filter you choose to look through. That can make or break any day or situation.
You might notice I'm pretty happy much of the time and I celebrate tons of things along the way.
That is something I choose moment by moment. It doesn't mean that shitty things don't happen to me; it's that I rarely give those things air time because I'd rather feel good, I'd rather look for the good and I'd rather express the good.
So I notice what's going on, tend to it as required and then move on to something lighter and better feeling.
All of that happens inwardly which means I'm not requiring something outside of me to change so that I can feel ok. I work on feeling ok and then the situations take care of themselves.
My life is abundant precisely because I routinely scan for all the abundance in my days. I'm always on the look out for anything that's awesome along my path. And then I celebrate and share that awesomeness to give it the honour it deserves and to invite even more abundance into my life.
You are more spoiled than you know. If you counted your blessings every day instead of listing and talking about what's not working for you, your life would completely change.
I don't have more than anyone else. What I have is the ability to see things as I most want to see them.
Everything "out there" reflects what's "in here" so if you wanna see and experience more of the good stuff, you've got to start that process on the inside.
Life treats you the way you treat yourself. I hope you're treating yourself right.
