Tending to my inner world and cultivating the kinds of thoughts that enable me to exist comfortably inside myself is my idea of a good time.
It’s a moment by moment practice to pay attention to what I’m thinking and feeling, and at times it can be an arduous task to keep that monkey mind in check, but it’s worth the effort for the moments of peace and joy I experience, the pride that comes with not buying into limited, negative, distorted beliefs, and the immense gratitude I feel for being out of the depths of my own inner hell.
Healing is rarely a one-time event. It’s layered and never-ending because we’re always evolving and graduating to new levels of understanding. It’s an ongoing devotion to one’s own well-being and it’s what I’ve committed this lifetime to doing.
Nothing tops a life lived in harmony with yourself.
