Has it really been 9 months already?!?! Wowzers! Not much has changed since my last post, Shampoo-Free (Month 8) + My Newest Hair Goal, except the fact that I very rarely wash and condition with egg anymore. It used to be my weekly staple but I'm having more success with the baking soda and apple cider vinegar team so now I use that once a week and the egg just once a month. I have found that my curls respond and define much better without using egg (especially now that summer has arrived) so I'll be sticking to bs + acv until I'm given a reason to switch to something else.
I did mention in my previous post that my newest hair goal is to grow my hair long now that I can do that much easier with shampoo-free hair (read why here), but with the warm weather officially upon us I'm starting to wonder if I'll make it through the summer without grabbing the scissors. Time will tell. The past week has been pretty frustrating having a full mane.
Since I rarely remember to take pictures just to showcase my hair, here are two photos from month 9 showing off an outfit. As you can see, my hair is doing a great job growing and I'm doing a poor job brushing or combing it. I tend to let it air dry and don't touch it after the fact. This is just my hair in its natural state. Zero products.
HAPPY HAIR DETOX E-COURSE
This lovely lass (Lucy of Lulastic and the Hippyshake and @lulasticblog on Instagram) has been a huge part of my shampoo-free adventure thanks to her fabulous ebook, Happy Hair: The Definitive Guide To Giving Up Shampoo. Lucy now has a Happy Hair Detox E-Course to help people through the no-poo experience and I thought I'd share it in case any poo-free wannabes are looking for the perfect guide along this wild path.
P.S. The terms no-poo and poo-free are not my favourite but they are the most used terms for this process.
See you at the end of month 10, my friend!
With love,
Mandy xo
