Rafael is my newest friend in Montreal after finally getting to spend time with him at my special and intimate book release party. Although we go to the same school, we didn’t meet there, and our mutual friends brought us together last night through a chance meeting on the way to the party.
After inquiring about my book, Rafael asked if I’d read part of it aloud, and Yain thought that was a splendid idea and clinked his glass to announce to everyone that I’d be doing a reading.
Rida picked the perfect seat for me, my friends gathered around, and I read the prologue of my book.
It was a surreal experience for me to hear audible responses to some of my lines about Keveen, and afterwards some of my friends shared how it resonated with them. They opened up about their own stories in front of everyone and it was beautiful.
I was asked more questions, I shared more of my heart, they asked to see pictures of Keveen, I acquiesced, and side conversations grew deeper.
It was a very special moment for me to read my heart aloud to a captive and engaged audience filled with beautiful souls. It felt magical and I genuinely felt my love pour out and through the lines.
So thank you, Rafael, for such a sweet request.
It made me feel like a star.
P.P.S. If an erotic, poetic, insightful and vulnerable real-life fairytale is your kinda thing, I invite you to explore my soul's offering, The Poet & The Butterfly Collection.
