Today I had a wonderful conversation with a friend whom I call the Queen of Zen. She does not live in a constant state of stress or anxiety like most people.
I have known her for a year now and she really doesn’t worry about the future. She’s currently facing the need to find a new job and a new place within a month and she’s chill as fuck about it. It’s not even a thing for her.
She trusts everything will work out just fine.
I asked her how she’s able to be that way, especially because I’m doing all I can inwardly just to not lose my shit about what’s coming up for me in June.
She said, “Why would I get stressed when everything is fine right now? I’m not fucked yet, so unless neither of those things work out, why would I waste my time and energy with unnecessary stress or worry? If something doesn’t work out, I’ll deal with that when the time comes.”
I mean, that’s sane. Really healthy. But pretty rare. Is it just me and my circle or is it pretty common to often be worried about everything all the time, especially about things that haven’t even happened yet?
Apparently there is another way and I fucking love it.
Talking to the Queen of Zen is inspiring. I can’t wait to see how things unfold for her over the next month because I imagine she’ll find the new job and the new place easily simply based on that chill factor.
Watching her move through her life so gently makes it feel safer for me to do the same. I mean, I always end up where I need to be anyways, so why not learn how to be zen as fuck on the way there?
That’s today’s goal. Be more like my zen friend because she feels like sunshine.
(FYI: The Queen Of Zen lined up a new job and a new place within 2 weeks - TWO WEEKS!)
"I simply love this post and had to share it! Mandy is definitely one of those people that feels like sunshine to me. Her words are often inspiring, comforting or at the very least, can make me smile. This post found me at the perfect moment and it just struck a chord. I try to be that zen friend when I can and also try to "move through my life gently". And I am lucky enough to have a few of those sunshine people in my life. I wanted to share this as a personal reminder to spend more time with those people who feel like sunshine...because sunshine makes me veeeery haaaappy." Sylvie Gravelle
I love it!! The queen of zen 💜 I’ve always tried to live for today and tomorrow. Sometimes the future stresses me out but I know I’ll get through it. I always do. It’s the past I hate. Sometimes there are bumps in the road and you have to get over them and not look back. It happened and it’s done. What we do today sets us up for tomorrow so that’s what we need to live for. 💜💜💜 Tina McIsaac
