In just over a year, my girl has moved to Kitchener, Toronto and in one more sleep - Montreal. I'm half hoping that Paige will absolutely hate being in such a gorgeous city and demand to return to ours in just a few short weeks or months (let me dream), and the other half of me is hoping that her soul will thrive there and that she'll create the life of her dreams from right where she is. None of us know how anything will turn out but we do know what it feels like to follow (or ignore) our heart's longings. I'm so proud of Paige for listening to hers.
My goal over the past few days has been to be as grounded as possible and be at home 100% so that I'm fully available for whatever she might need - an errand to run, a listening ear, a squishy hug or for her just to know I'm here and she's loved and supported one million percent. I'm sure that's a mama bear thing. They'll always be our children no matter what age they are, and we'll always do what we can to make life a bit easier for them.
I want to be a solid energetic anchor for her as she leaves home once again (third time's a charm, right?), and it feels good to be able to offer this. A steady diet of of deep breathing, plenty of soothing words to myself, and oodles of trust that life is taking her exactly where she needs to be. And also trusting that I'll be ok, too. That I have a wonderful adventure awaiting me as well - one that I can't even fathom right now.
I'm currently not being pulled towards anything in particular which I'm sure is great because it means that absolutely anything is possible. Fresh new chapter and a sparkly clean slate. I'll take it!
Until the next move for me, I'll appreciate every moment that Paige is still here to love and annoy and squish. We've had many sacred moments this week and I'm feeling ready for what's to come. I'm no longer terrified like I was last week. Just open for something beautiful, expansive and delicious in every way.
All my love and no tears yet,
