Every night I send myself an email, and every morning I open it and read it aloud. The subject line reads: "My Succulent Life".
This email contains every single thing I want for myself in life, written as if it's already happening. It's quite lengthy (you know me with words), but it's my way of reminding myself every single day of what I truly want and where I'm headed. It's one of the many tools I use to remain in constant communication with myself and focused on my vision.
The email doesn't change much from day to day, so it's basically a copy and paste job with minor alterations when new dreams arise or old ones have been realized.
I always look forward to my morning email routine because I know that this email is overflowing with my highest aspirations, all of which inspire me to take action each day. It feels great to be clear on the direction I'm going, and to not have that clarity dissolve in the day-to-day business of life.
Reading this email is one of the last things I do before bed and the first thing I do when I wake up. It sets the tone for my day. It's yesterday's self sending me a beautiful reminder of what's most important to me so that I have less chance of forgetting what that is.
I share very few dreams publicly - they are sacred and protected - but all have been shared with Melanie because she is expansive enough to see them as already realized.
She is the witness to my life and my constant evolution, and as each of my dreams are achieved, I have her - that one special person that watches and supports me fully as I move from beginning to end in any endeavour.
If we are not clear on where we want to go, we make it very difficult for ourselves to get there. But when we take the time to get crystal clear on what we truly want in life, we are already halfway there.
I think the best part of having a regular email dialogue with yourself is that you have an ongoing record of your process of transformation and in years to come you can go back to your oldest emails and see how much of what you once only dreamed of, has now come to fruition.
Onward, as always.
