I spent the first part of this year having no idea what I really wanted to do with my new life in Montreal.
When I first moved here, my main goal and automatic go-to was to rebuild Too Good Triangles in my new city, and it made perfect sense at the time. I had a great connection here in Quebec for mass distribution, and I knew I had a winning product. So what more did I need?
I needed my heart to be in it, that’s what. And sadly, it wasn’t. But without TGT, what did I actually have here that I could direct my energy towards? Where did my heart want to go? I didn’t know.
So I decided to take French Immersion in the meantime, which I started in March. I figured I may as well do something productive and beneficial while I explore my new city and figure out what my next step is, and a few months after that I signed up for a 12 week program online and that’s when everything changed for me.
Through that course I gained the clarity I was craving and then there was no turning back.
I knew 100000% that what I most needed and wanted to do this year was to build my first online shop with MY style of art. I had always envied others who were selling their unique magic online, and now it was my turn to do the same.
My personal goal was to have 10 digital products available for purchase in my new store by December 31st, 2017, even if they were just tiny gifts to begin with.
I had talked about this dream of selling my writings online for years to Melanie and other close friends, but the whole thing felt overwhelming so I never got around to doing it.
I have written so many pieces in the past decade that I didn’t have a clue how to sort them or how to bring it all together and package things in a way that could be sold. So I kept putting it off with the hopes that one day a blog fairy would come along to organize everything for me.
Luckily, everything started to clicking fall into place during the course I was taking, and nothing felt overwhelming anymore. I knew it was time to make my dream come to life and I got straight to work.
Initially I was going to create my online DIVA course (still a goal but not a priority yet) as my first cyber offering, and I checked out an art studio to record my videos in and also wrote out all the content for the course. I was pumped!
But that excitement was short-lived. A new idea emerged.
I decided it would be quicker and easier to put out The Poet & The Butterfly Collection as my first offering. I already had everything I needed. I just needed to bring it all back to life and deliver it to the world.
Ideas began to rise to the surface and the whole project became crystal clear in my mind. There would be three parts. The book. The poetry collection inspired by the book. The additional emails that came after the book.
So by the time summer hit, my whole heart and soul was deeply immersed into P&B, and 6 months later, I am proud to say that I now have an online store (MY DREAM!), and I have more than 10 digital products in my store, AND there will be more additions by the end of this month. And that’s just for The Poet & The Butterfly Collection.
I have many other beautiful collections that will be added next year as well. I’ve got everything laid out and ready.
Just you wait.
P.P.S. If an erotic, poetic, insightful and vulnerable real-life fairytale is your kinda thing, I invite you to explore my soul's offering, The Poet & The Butterfly Collection.
