I was genuinely dreading both fall and winter this year, mostly because our summer wasn't much of a summer until the very end when it made no sense at all, but I'm happy to say that I've loved every bit of the season so far (except that one hellish day I wrote about here when the bus driver saved me from turning into a popsicle).
I know that months of endless snow and bitter cold are just around the corner, but for now I'm loving all these dry roads and sunny days. I love that it's December 8th and I can still ride comfortably, and I'm sure my animal hats and mitts and socks are adding to the joy I feel despite not being able to lay on a beach.
I really thought I wanted to live where it's always warm, but there truly is beauty in every season. If it wasn't for fall, I would have no need for my gorgeous hooded jacket, and if it wasn't for winter I'd look pretty silly wearing owl mittens and a furry tiger hat with a built-in scarf and paw mitts at the end.
I'm not saying I'll love winter once it arrives for good, but there's a high chance I will this year.
P.S. This is the beautiful tree in my backyard.
