I'm proud to announce that I have been nominated for the Bernice Adams Literary/Communications Award alongside two friends of mine: Mike Cahill and Bill Kirby, both of whom made this nomination possible by conspiring to get my work noticed.
FYI: Mike not only made The Poet & The Butterfly Echo Weekly's Book of the Month in 2009, he offered me his job as a columnist shortly after despite the fact that we had never even met. I took over the Cambridge Beat, which eventually turned into the Mandyland column in Echo Weekly, and it was through Mandyland Radio that Mike and I finally had a chance to connect in person and become friends.
P.S. In 2011 I was nominated for the KW Arts Literary Award (pictured above on that special night) and am so happy to include a nomination in the Bernice Adams Memorial Awards to my list of treasures. The event takes place on May 23rd and I absolutely can't wait!
MY FIRST E-BOOK HITS CYBER SHELVES NEXT WEEK!
It's official! My second book and greatest love, The Poet & The Butterfly, which Echo Weekly deemed "A modern classic. Poignant and poetic, eloquent and erotic.", will be available on Amazon Kindle, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Smashwords, Flipkart, Oyster, Scribd, Baker & Taylor, Page Foundry and more next week!
This has been a huge goal of mine for years (P&B was first published in 2007 as a soft cover), and in about a week from now, my online book will be ready for the world. Stay tuned for a super special contest and deal when it arrives!
Here I am with Sara, Destini, and Keveen (my co-author in The Poet & The Butterfly and founder of Korakor/ Spread Your Love) in 2007. The book spans a 2 week period of an intense, poetic love affair between Keveen and I, and this picture was taken on the 2 week mark exactly. Those who have read the book know what happened on this particular day. :)
Stay tuned to get your cyber copy of P&B!
